The perfect dress for a Marlo Thomas Junior, and other kids cooler than I am.

Back to school means I crave new clothes, and since my son doesn’t care, I have to get my school shopping thrills living vicariously through others.

I am having too much fun looking at these clothes for kids, and if I look at these images with my eyes almost closed, it’s kind of like the children are dancing.

Who could resist this Marlo Thomas Dress for kids? Or, the Kid Trench?

The jacket with the bow is Killing Me!

And this girl with her pink glasses, tie, and jacket is fashion incarnate. Clothes by Rocket Salad.

These kids are all WAY cooler than I am. And these two know how to accessorize! (via)

As does this young one, in another Rocket Salad  – Rocket Mini outfit.

Yup. These girls are kickin’ it awesome.

New Kicks from New Balance

Digging this collaboration between Frapbois and New Balance. (via)

Not sure I could pull them off. But they sure are fun.

Warning: Pandas are Bears

Favorite new t-shirt. From the design team at Mildchop. With a tag line like “Design of the Delusion”, what would you expect?

Am I royalty, or does my badge just make me look like it?

I am a sucker for the idea of a badge. Something fake, yet official looking, that would let me pretend I was a British school girl back in the days of uniforms and kneesocks. D+ Arts, in Japan, might meet my needs precisely. If only they sold the perfect jacket to go with my badge.

Not so much your style? Okay. They also make adorable polka-dot bowties.

Happy Hour Bags, the very definition of Kawaii!

These bags from Happy Hour are Kawaii incarnate!

So they might be a little small, but that’s okay. I always carry too many odds and ends in my bags anyway.

Yes, these sneakers do make me Joy Full.

How much can I picture my son in these? And the orange? Love! Shoes from Joy Full.

No sure? There’s always these colorful hi-tops.

Not so much your style? Okay, I also love these sweet Spring Mary Janes, especially the green.

My son always says it’s not fair that adults get to make all the decisions. I don’t think it’s fair that kids get to wear all the cute stuff!

Your Baby, the Superhero

In my ongoing hypocrisy, if this were an American superhero baby outfit, I’d probably think it endlessly tacky. Because it’s cutely Japanese, however, I feel completely the opposite, and wouldn’t mess with any baby sporting one of these outfits! What baby doesn’t need an ascot? (via)

Rocking the Tsunagi (That’s jumpsuit, in case you were wondering.)

Tsunagi 1 Making a Tsunagi work...

I love this recent post at Tokyo Telephone. All about the Tsunagi, a wardrobe staple in Japan-at least for some.

The all-in-one / jumpsuit / tsunagi is without a doubt one of the hardest looks to pull off in the entire male fashion wardrobe.  Indeed, even on the streets of Shibyua you are infinitely more likely to catch a man in skirt than an all-in-one.  Shame, because the traditional workman’s tsunagi is such a design classic as far as I am concerned and it is a crime that it is seldom explored in actual fashion. (via)

I saw plenty of men wearing them while practicing their trades, but not so many just as a fashion statement. At Tokyo Telephone, a selection of both offerings – the cutting edge and the more traditional.

There is something seriously 80s metalhead happening with some of these. Yowza!

This one, I like. Utilitarian and Classic.

I must admit that as far as I am concerned, these should ONLY ever be worn by those actually working, or pretending to, and I cannot get with the Acid Wash.

I spotted these guys while seeking out a toy store in Osaka. Shouldn’t we all look this good while changing a light bulb? And gear belts? Always a must.

Woo Woo for Boo Foo Woo!

It was distressing to me when Boo Foo Woo essentially left the American market, or at least, made it infinitely more complicated to carry their lines. I loved selling  their clothes and miss them dearly. At least, however, I can still admire them from afar, right?

Here’s my feeling about Boo Foo Woo. If we can’t pull this stuff off when we are kids, we’ve missed our shot. So why not have our kids enjoy this slightly crazy, colorful, and amazingly fantastical clothing?

Here’s some favorites from their Spring/Summer 2011 Collections. Adorable!

Happy colors for your feet, not just for kids anymore.

I’ve just discovered something dangerous. Minimynimo makes slippers for grown-ups too!

Beautiful colors that would make me happy every time I looked down. Don’t you want some?
