How does Monocle do it? Limited Editions by Satoshi Hashimoto

Every issue of Monocle contains more coolness than I think they should be allowed. It just doesn’t seem fair to be that cool and get to travel the world.

In the June issue–okay, I’m a little late–I am loving the work done by Japanese illustrator for Monocle, Satoshi Hashimoto. Of course, they are special limited editions–done for Monocle. But even with my insane jealously, I’d still hang these in my home.

Ahh, The Perfect Hotel, which looks vaguely like a Jetsons cartoon.Designed by the widely traveled Monocle editors, and brought to life by Hashimoto. Complete with a Hi-Fi!

Hashimoto also illustrated Monocle’s Happiness Index Poster. 50 things Monocle folks believe can make for a contented life. How many of these do I agree with? Not sure, but I like the visuals.

Finally, I know I have discussed my map obsession, and this map would fit the bill nicely. The kind of thing you wish you could find in your local junk shop, but that somehow, everyone else snatches up before you!

Hmmmm-not surprisingly, I can find little to no biographical information about Hashimoto because Monocle wants to keep him all to themselves! Well-played, Monocle, well-played.
