The Macaroon Headphone Cord Holder – My Favorite New Invention.

I was very, very busy yesterday. New products galore! But today, it’s all about my headphone mess and the bundle of cords I am always dealing with.

My absolute favorite and a totally genius invention – the Macaroon Headphone Cord Holder. Wind your headphone cords around the Macaroon, then suction cup it to the back of your device so they stay together. So simple and so smart-and why didn’t I think of it first?

Comes in Pink, Green, White, and Black. And I would like to keep one of each please.

Now in the New Products Section at Japanistic.

Japanistic wants you to Clean Up Your Act! (with our kitchen cleaning supplies.)

As you might remember from my Japan trip updates last year, many of the companies I met while onĀ  my trip specialized in cleaning products of all sorts. At long last, we have those available for you at Japanistic.

A personal favorite? The Bowtie Dustpan and Brush, available in three colors. The perfect size to keep at your desk, at the ready for some tidying when you need it.

The kitchen sponge is an important item in Japan, and we’ve got plenty of them.

If you have any knowledge about Japanese sponges, you know that Melamine makes for a miracle sponge. My current favorite? This Fruits Melamine Orange Sponge separates into 6 parts so you can use it as you need it without ruining the rest of the sponge. And you will want to use these ALL the time because they are MIRACULOUS for removing stains, and problem spots of all kinds.

Another current favorite is this Monkey Kitchen Sponge.

These little monkeys are adorable, and slightly coarse on the outside so they are super effective. In addition, they can clip to your faucet to dry! And look cute in your kitchen!

Cleaning is always more fun when there is cuteness involved, don’t you think?

Another love is this set of Pink Bear Cleaning Cloths. The set of two is reusable, and large enough to help you clean wherever in your kitchen needs a helping hand.

And yes, I must admit that part of what I love is the instructional illustration on the package. Look how happy they are to be helping you clean!

Of course, it’s not just the actual kitchen that needs cleaning. You need the proper tools to clean your food too! Try our Frog Scrubbie, Potato Brush, Vegetable Scrub Brushes, or Fish-shaped Kitchen brushes.

Potato Brush special feature? Yup – an easy way to remove the eyes and spots.

As always, there are some goodies I haven’t even gotten to load yet. Be on the lookout this weekend for fruit-shaped sponges that are bite-worthy.

New favorites from our Neighbors section at Japanistic!

Thanks to the fantastic feedback from our readers, I’ve started a Neighbors section on Japanistic. Currently, it’s heavy on the design from Korea, but I’ve plans to expand the section soon.

My current favorite are these amazing Matchbook Label stickers. Vintage European images, on boxed sets of more than 70 unique images.

Another bit of neighborly love – these Thunder Boys Stickies.

You’ll need those guys to mark your place as you write in this Beret Girls Notebook.

Or perhaps, you like a girl with antlers. Try the You and Me Journal from Okaytina.

And of course, who could resist this C’est Si Bon! Notebook from Ooh La La? I mean, seriously–it’s got a muscle man, braces, a dinosaur wearing a party hat and eating a cupcake–what more could a notebook need?

You’ll need something to inspire your creativity for writing or drawing in such a fantastic notebook. Try this Rainbow Pencil Set from Nepal, another of our “neighbors” on Japanistic.

There’s plenty more already there, and more to come soon! Visit Neighbors to see what’s new.

Newness for Youness (aka New Product at Japanistic)

Time for a new product round-up! (Okay, it’s really because I worked so hard on getting product up this weekend and I have to share my excitement!)

First up, my personal favorite. I am constantly irritated by my tangle of headphone, charger, and cell phone cords. Thus, the Ribbon Cord Wrap. And since it’s a set of three, I have one for almost every cord.

Next, something we’ve featured before but that sold so quickly, we just had to get them back in stock!

Waxed Paper Bags, sturdy and decorated with letterpress umbrellas and a bit of French, or if you prefer, a sweet Rabbit family or Postage theme.

A new favorite, the Silicone Mini Coin. This could actually be the perfect change purse.

I’m a crafter by nature, and I love these Happy Birthday Banner stickers. These could put me in a serious card-making mood!

Finally, Rilakkuma + Bento = serious cuteness in this Rilakkuma Bento Paper Craft.

Perhaps the perfect activity for a rainy summer afternoon?

More photos have already been taken so there is plenty to come. As always, happy shopping.

Summer Sweets Sweets Notebooks at Japanistic. Yup – they’re twice as sweet.

Sweets Sweets summer treats at Japanistic. And these sweets are utilitarian – lined notebooks ready for you to record tales of all your summer adventures. Choose from Donut, Macaroon, or my personal favorite, Ice Cream.

A frog in your bathtub, without having to catch it first. (New at Japanistic.)

This guy’s expression just gets to me. Something about that face makes me love this Frog Bath Pouf. (You wouldn’t know this from the photo but I took this shot at our local frog pond, near our house, just so this guy would feel at home.)

My son and I both love poufs because the suds they can generate are amazing. And if you’re not a frog lover, don’t worry. We have a Chick Pouf and Seal Pouf too.

By the way, these terrific poufs are from another of the fantastic companies I met on my Japan trip. Want to see more? Visit the New Products section on Japanistic.

Mushroom Tea. (No! Not that kind!)

As with so many other contradictory elements in my life, I hate Mushrooms as a food product, and yet love them as a design element. Currently, I am seriously desirous of this new Mushroom Tea Mug at Japanistic.

As much as I would like to, I can’t possibly sneak one of every product for myself, and we didn’t get many of these so, sigh, I leave them for you. Enjoy, Mushroom Tea Drinkers. Enjoy.

Sneak Peaks at what’s coming soon to Japanistic

I’ve been busy taking photos today, and while I don’t have all of the new products finished and on the site, yet, I thought I’d give you a taste of what’s coming.

I promise we’ll get these, and more, done by Monday. In the meantime, you can imagine all of the wonderful things you can do with these new treasures.
