When I was younger, I spent many a wonderful afternoon with Anne of Green Gables. I read the books voraciously, feeling quite mature as I stepped up from Little House on the Prairie. Now Shinzi Katoh, always a favorite, has expanded his line with a series of Anne of Green Gables stationery products, unfortunately not yet available stateside. Sigh. (As Colette said, “Oh Shinzi Katoh-you get me every time.”) If only I could see them in person at the Tokyo Stationery show…

My only question now is when do I get Pippi Longstocking?

Whenever we see Eric, our UPS delivery person extraordinaire, carrying one of these special parcels, we start to hyperventilate a little bit. The very box itself is so enticing, wrapped in adorable Shinzi Katoh tape. And even though we’ve ordered what’s inside, it still feels like Christmas. And since our Japanese is, well, non-existent, there are always a few surprises in store. Did we get what we ordered? Did we order what we meant to?

Our manager, Colette, examining the new Shinzi Katoh catalog that came with the package.
Regardless, when the box is from Shinzi Katoh, it’s always delightful.
By now, we’ve opened it all, swooned over it, and are getting it ready for you to see on the website. Until then, enjoy the box and the anticipation….
