All of us at Japanistic are sympathetic about the rising cost of shipping, and we are sensitive to the fact that not every customer can or wants to spend $50 to get free shipping. So, we are now offering Flat Rate for $4.95. The same rules apply here as they do for free shipping above: items shipped Flat Rate are sent First Class, Priority Mail, or UPS Ground - whichever is less expensive. Items are processed and readied for shipping within 2-3 business days after receiving the order. Some orders take more time to prepare, such as international shipments. Japanistic is not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the carrier (USPS or UPS) and may vary with package origin and destination, particularly during peak periods. All orders are shipped via UPS or USPS. All shipping costs are determined by the weight and volume of the items purchased, the method of shipping chosen, and the destination address. PayPal users please take note: When using your PayPal account, please ensure that the shipping address is accurate and up-to-date. Japanistic is NOT responsible for items delivered to old addresses that have not been updated.
International orders may be subject to customs duties/fees/tax. The fee is based on the value of the items purchased and varies depending on the country of destination. We are not able to estimate the fee. If the fee is not paid or refused at the destination the item will be considered forfeit and no refund will be issued. UPS charges a hefty brokerage fee so we recommend USPS for shipments abroad.
Items returned to Japanistic due to incorrect delivery address information provided by the customer are subject to our Shipping & Returns policy.
When your item has been shipped, you will receive notification via email. This email may include your Delivery Confirmation Number or Tracking Number. Please note that the USPS Delivery Confirmation service is not an actual Tracking number, but simply shows when the label was printed and when the item was delivered at its final destination. We therefore strongly urge all customers to carefully consider their shipping option in relation to the final destination. UPS with signature confirmation is strongly recommended for larger, urban areas, and for delivery locations that are not secure. Items lost in transit and shipped without a tracking or deliver confirmation number do not qualify for a refund or credit. Japanistic is not responsible for items that go missing once the package leaves the store, or once the package is delivered to a destination, such as a front porch or apartment mail room.
On-Line Returns & Exchanges
We want you to be happy with your order and your experience at Japanistic. You have 30 days from the date of shipment to return the item for a refund or on-line store credit which does not expire and is good toward any item at Japanistic.com. Once we receive your return, please allow up to 72 business hours for processing your refund or store credit which is the purchase price and applicable tax but not shipping. Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the customer. You may return anything purchased at Japanistic with the exception of customized or vintage goods. Returned items must be: 1) in their original condition and in their original packaging; and 2) complete with all tags, instructions, and inserts.
All products are covered by the warranty policies of the their respective manufacturers. If you have questions about the warranty for a specific product, or if you have questions on how to make a warranty claim, please contact us. All warranty claims are subject to our Conditions of Use.
All sales on vintage items are final (we do not offer refunds, credits or exchanges on these items). All vintage items are described, through both photography and copy, as accurately as possible. If you have any questions or concerns at all about a particular item, please make sure to contact us before you make your purchase. Vintage products sold at Japanistic.com are in good condition and free from damage. However, we cannot ensure that Vintage products are free from the normal and expected signs of aging.
